Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the coloured chequer tiles in the same range?
This is the plain white field tile, still 452 x 452mm, pre-scored and anti-slip rated like the rest of the Bristol range — but without a second colour, so it's used to extend a floor beyond the main chequered area or to create a simpler, all-white period floor.
How many tiles do I need to cover a square metre?
Each tile covers just over 0.2m², so you'll need roughly 5 tiles per square metre. We'd recommend ordering an extra 10% to allow for cuts and wastage.
How slip-resistant is this tile?
It carries an anti-slip rating suited to domestic floors, so it's a practical choice for hallways, kitchens, bathrooms and porches.
Can it be used outdoors as well as inside?
Yes, the porcelain body is frost-resistant and suitable for both interior rooms and sheltered exterior areas such as porches and entranceways.
What material is it made from?
Porcelain — dense, low-absorption and resistant to scratching and staining, which keeps it looking good even in busy areas.
Can I pair this with the coloured chequer or border tiles?
Yes, it's designed to work alongside the coloured Bristol chequer, border and corner tiles in the same range, so you can combine plain and patterned areas within one floor design.
How do I install and maintain it?
Fix with a standard flexible tile adhesive and grout in a shade to suit — light grey or white keeps the look seamless. Once grouted, porcelain needs no sealing; just sweep regularly and wipe with warm water and a mild cleaner.
